Workspace · Witness preparation from the record

Prepare questions. Keep the source beside them.

Prelude turns eligible case material into a witness preparation kit. Questions stay connected to the passages that support asking them; the workspace does not predict a witness's answers.

Step by step

How Prelude works

The receipt beside each step is an illustrative example of what a reviewer sees, not data from a real case.

  1. 01

    Choose the case material

Open Prelude in the case and select the witness-kit task. Review the scope and AI cost estimate before starting.

case scope · witness kit · estimate
  2. 02

    Account for the source

Tessera processes eligible source units and keeps an analyzed, failed and withheld coverage receipt. Failed units or sections keep the run incomplete.

source units · coverage · missing ranges
  3. 03

    Review questions against passages

Retained items carry quotes validated against their cited lines. A separate check reviews the anchored passages; a same-model check is labeled honestly.

question · verbatim passage · check type
  4. 04

    Save a follow-up revision

Request a follow-up from the saved workspace. It creates a separate source-checked report revision, preserving the parent report rather than overwriting it.

    parent report · follow-up · saved revision
  5. 05

    Export the preparation kit

Export a complete kit in Word, PDF, Excel or CSV after recent authentication. Exports retain evidence references and are audited.

complete coverage · source references · audit
Limits we state plainly
  • Preparation questions are not predictions of testimony, legal advice or conclusions about a witness.
  • Unverifiable items are dropped. Source omissions and incomplete coverage remain visible.
  • A follow-up revision does not silently carry forward human edits as source facts.
