Clockwork is the retrieval and model-tier layer under Echo, Kairos and Paradox. You do not open it as its own screen; you see its work as ranked passages, shown query expansions and a receipt of what was examined.
Clockwork runs inside Kairos questions, Echo Ask and Paradox candidate ordering.
Know which retrieval mode is in use and that AI requests use the configured closed gateway.
Explain how a passage was found when someone asks.
The receipt beside each step is an illustrative example of what a reviewer sees, not data from a real case.
Tessera units from live, unsuppressed, current sources are indexed. Suppressed, quarantined or stale sources are not eligible, and source changes invalidate the index entries.
eligible units onlyDatabase full-text ranking supports AND, OR, NOT, parentheses, quoted phrases and implicit AND. This keyword mode is the current default.
mode: keywordA fast-tier medical and drug synonym expansion may broaden a plain query, and it is shown to the user. Explicit Boolean or phrase queries keep their original meaning.

provider: labelled onlyEach search records the query, filters, index version, examined-unit count, expansions, ranks, scores and order. It preserves what happened; it does not promise a later model call will be identical.
