Workspace · Deposition transcript workspace

Read a deposition the way you will cite it.

Echo turns one or more transcript volumes into ten review layers. Each point keeps the volume, printed page, physical page and line it came from, so the citation you put in a brief is the one Echo showed you.

Who uses Echo

Trial attorneys

Prepare cross-examination and motions from page-line cites rather than paraphrase.

Litigation paralegals

Produce digests, exhibit lists and testimony timelines without retyping citations.

Case managers

See which pages were analyzed and which were not before anything is shared.

Step by step

How Echo works

The receipt beside each step is an illustrative example of what a reviewer sees, not data from a real case.

  1. 01

    Choose the transcript set

Inside a case, pick the transcript volumes, any errata sheets and the digest granularity. Index, certificate and errata pages stay in an excluded ledger instead of being read as testimony.

    Vol. I + Vol. II · errata 1
  2. 02

    Keep page identity intact

Printed transcript pages are tracked separately from viewer pages, including supported four-up and two-column condensed layouts. Ambiguous layouts and page collisions inside a volume fail openly rather than dropping testimony.

    printed p. 84 · physical p. 23
  3. 03

    Build ten layers

Abstract, examination sections, topical summaries, page-line digest, testimony timeline, people, exhibits, objections and instructions, notable statements and rulings. Every layer reads every analyzed page; the abstract caps supported points, not input pages.

    10 layers · separate checkpoints
  4. 04

Check every point against its lines

Each generated point must quote text that actually appears in the cited lines. A separate source check then sees only that point and its passages. Unsupported points are dropped; partial support is marked for review, and same-model checks are labelled as same-model.

    84:12–19 · partial · same model

    Review, edit and annotate errata

Open the source pane beside any point to see the numbered lines with inline errata. Edits keep the original AI text and version history and are marked human-edited. Errata stay linked annotations; original testimony is never overwritten.

    Export when coverage is complete

Select the layers you want. Word and PDF link each citation to a source-excerpt appendix; Excel covers the five tabular layers. Export requires sign-in, case access, recent re-authentication and complete coverage, and is audited.

Limits we state plainly
  • Incomplete runs show missing page ranges and failed sections; they are not presented or exported as complete.
  • Echo summarizes testimony; it does not give legal opinions. A reviewer remains responsible for every point used.
  • Echo is off by default and activated per firm; availability may vary by firm.
