Every entry carries a citation to the source page, so a paralegal or attorney can verify any fact in one click. The timeline is fully editable — entries can be corrected, merged, suppressed, or annotated before export.
Chronos accepts the file formats law firms actually receive: PDFs (searchable or scanned), images of records, and common document formats. Scanned and handwritten-adjacent records go through OCR before extraction. Files that cannot be safely processed are flagged rather than silently skipped.

Yes. Chronos automatically extracts ICD-10 diagnosis codes, CPT procedure codes, and HCPCS supply codes onto every chronology entry. The codes are exported alongside the timeline in PDF, DOCX, and Excel formats and are available in a grouped view, ready for use in damages models or expert review.
Yes. Chronos analyzes the extracted records and surfaces provider coverage suggestions — identifying providers, facilities, or specialists that appear in the record text but have no uploaded records tracked against them. Your team can accept, dismiss, or restore each suggestion, and every decision is attributed to the team member who made it for future reference.
Yes. Any chronology entry supports threaded comment discussions. Team members can @mention colleagues to pull them into a specific review thread, and open comment threads are surfaced on the case dashboard so nothing falls through the cracks. Comments are visible only within your firm account and are not included in exports.

No. Credits never expire and are shared firm-wide — any member of your firm can use them at any time. Buy credits when you need them; unused credits carry forward indefinitely.

Chronos is HIPAA-aligned with a signed Business Associate Agreement (BAA) included on every account. We run on HIPAA-eligible infrastructure with AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, enforced multi-factor authentication, role-based access controls, immutable audit logs, and US-only data residency. HIPAA compliance is a shared responsibility between Chronos (as Business Associate) and your firm — the BAA defines those obligations.
Yes — a signed BAA is included with every account at no extra cost, from solo practitioners to large firms. It is presented during onboarding before any PHI is uploaded, and the template is available to your IT or compliance team on request beforehand.
No — never. Protected health information uploaded to Chronos is used only to produce your firm's chronology. It is not used to train AI models, inside or outside Chronos, and this commitment is contractual in the BAA.
All data is stored encrypted (AES-256) in United States data centers on HIPAA-eligible infrastructure. Data never leaves the US. Daily encrypted backups are retained for 30 days and monthly backups for 12 months, all under the same access controls.
Yes. You can delete individual cases or your entire account at any time. Deletion is permanent, logged in the audit trail, and deleted data ages out of all backups on a published schedule. We do not retain PHI after contract termination.
