Choose who will prepare and verify the chronology before choosing a tool or an outsourced deliverable. Both approaches require a clear record inventory, source citations and attorney review.
With an outsourced service, define the supplied records, deliverable format, reviewer role, quality checks and revision terms in the engagement. With software, your staff controls intake, source verification, corrections and final preparation. Neither approach proves the record set is complete or resolves conflicting evidence without review.
Measure retrieval time, draft processing, staff verification and later-record revisions separately. Readability, volume and complexity change the estimate. Ask an outsourced provider for an agreed delivery schedule and exception process; benchmark software with a representative, non-sensitive evaluation set.
Outsourcing may fit a temporary backlog, limited staff capacity or a need for specialist clinical review. Confirm qualifications, responsibility for ambiguous findings, data-processing terms and the cost of amendments. Do not assume every service includes nurse review or retrieval.
Chronos supports in-house preparation with a source-linked, editable timeline and exports. Your firm remains responsible for review and intended use. See current per-case pricing, the fictional sample and security and BAA information before deciding.
